In short: Vreme.to is a weather product built by LabForty: the website vreme.to, a free app for iPhone and Android, and Vreme.to Desktop for the Mac. Each shows current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts and interactive weather maps, with official warnings where available. There is no public Vreme.to API at the time of writing; the website and apps use Vreme.to's own weather services.
Most of what we build at LabForty is for clients. Vreme.to is our own product, which makes it a useful way to show how we approach one product across a website, iPhone, Android and the Mac.
The website: vreme.to
Vreme.to shows the weather for the place you choose: current conditions, hourly and 7-day forecasts, rain, wind, radar and satellite maps.
- Models. The Models page lets you view and compare forecast maps from GFS, ECMWF, AIFS, ICON, GEM, HRRR and NAM-Nest, choose a model run and step through the forecast hours. Model runs and forecast times use UTC.
- Today on Earth. A view of the hottest and coldest places, where it is a beach day or a ski day, and the weather in major European cities.
- Languages. The website is in Bulgarian and English, and its city weather pages are also available in German, Russian and Ukrainian.
The app for iPhone and Android
The Vreme.to app is free on the App Store and is also on Google Play. On iPhone it requires iOS 16.4 or later. The app is available in Bulgarian, English, German, Russian and Ukrainian.
- Forecast. The weather now, hourly and for the next days, with temperature, feels-like temperature, precipitation, wind and air quality on one screen.
- Weather maps. Interactive maps with wind and temperature data, satellite images and radar where available. You can compare what weather models, including GFS, ECMWF and ICON, predict for the same place and time.
- Warnings and notifications. Official warnings for severe weather where available, and notifications you can switch on for severe weather, rain on the way and temperature changes.
- Outdoors. Peak temperatures and snow conditions before a hike; water temperature, waves, tides and the UV index before a day at the coast.
- Night sky. Moon phases, stargazing conditions, visible planets, aurora forecasts, and sunrise, sunset and golden hour for your location.
- Sky identification. Take or choose a photo of the sky and the app identifies the clouds. The model runs on your device, and the photos are not uploaded to a cloud AI service.
According to the Vreme.to privacy policy, the app has no user accounts and no advertising, payment or subscription integration. Location access is optional: you can search for a place instead.
Vreme.to Desktop for the Mac
Vreme.to Desktop is the desktop edition of Vreme.to, made for a large screen. It is free on the Mac App Store, first in Bulgaria, and requires macOS 26 or later.
- The same forecasts, maps and notifications as the phone app. All notifications stay off until you turn on the ones you want.
- Your places sit in the sidebar, and each one can open in a window of its own.
- A live sky behind the forecast follows the weather, and the sun and moon follow local time and the moon's real phase.
- Radar, satellite, live lightning and model maps, with weekly charts that show values where you point.
- Keyboard shortcuts, full-screen mode and dark mode, in the same five languages.
- No account, no ads and no tracking. Location is optional, and for the forecast the coordinates are rounded to about one kilometre.
Vreme.to also announces Vreme.to Sky for Mac as coming soon to the Mac App Store: a menu bar app that sets the desktop wallpaper to match the weather outside, with official MeteoAlarm warnings. It is listed for Macs with Apple silicon running macOS 14 or later, in English and Bulgarian.
Is there a Vreme.to API?
Not as a public product. The website and apps send your chosen place or coordinates to Vreme.to's own weather services, which fetch the data from weather providers. There is no public documentation for third-party developers.
What this means if you are planning an app
Vreme.to shows the way we like to build apps: one product on several platforms, privacy choices made early, such as no account and approximate location, and the same features explained the same way on the website, in the store listings and in the support pages. If you are planning an app for your customers, our app development page explains how we work, or you can contact LabForty directly.
